Watershed s first online ceramic sale in our new web store opened july 11. Watershed will ship the work to the winners at no additional cost. While salad days won t take place on campus this year we can still offer our community some delicious salad dishes to make and savor at home. Join the company of these 25 talented ceramists who have helped grow the salad days celebration from a back yard picnic that started in 1995 to the festival it is today that draws hundreds of visitors to watershed every july.

The salad days artist in residence is commissioned to produce 550 plates from earthenware clay for the event. Salad days at watershed center for the ceramic arts in newcastle maine was a celebration of local food handmade ceramics and a supportive community. Included in the ticket price is a souvenir handcrafted plate made by the artist in residence and a free lunch created with fresh local produce by the watershed cooks and restaurants in the area. This year the stars aligned to make it possible to spend a beautiful summer day at salad days.

Salad days is a novel event held in maine at the watershed center for the ceramic arts which is run annually on the 2nd saturday in july. The following recipes come courtesy of marguerite grifka a talented chef from the san diego area who was hired to cook at watershed in 2020.
